Grup Yorum trial in Istanbul:
This morning the trial against revolutionaries, among them artists of Grup Yorum started at Istanbul's 35th Court of Severe crimes.
According to trial observers, Fikret Akar, Yeliz Kılıç, Bahar Kurt and Helin Bolek were present in the court room.
Two so-called "secret witnesses" were heard this morning, who should give information about actions against the murder of Berkin Elvan. A witness told, he knew Helin Bolek and Bahar Kurt, they'd participated in a demonstration against the murder of Berkin.
After being asked the person said, that they had were confronting with police. After asking several times, the "witness" finally clarified that he meant just "pushing each other" when talking about confrontation.
Another witness coming for the Grup Yorum members said, that he knew Bahar, Helin and Sultan, that Bahar plays cross flute, while Helin and Sultan were solists of Grup Yorum. Regarding to their activities, the witness stated, that they were carrying out cultural activities at Idil's Culture Centre, f.e. plays, chorus etc.. The witness also stressed, that no activities at all were done in relation to an illegal organisation...
Today 4 of 10 witnesses were heard. Trial to be continued tomorrow, 10 am local time.
